KLT receives courtesy visit from Swinburne Sarawak

Following Sarawak’s transition into phase 4 of the National Recovery Plan (NRP), most economic sectors and activities are allowed to operate fully while observing the standard operating procedures (SOPs). While Kolej Laila Taib (KLT) as an education provider is looking into the possibility of resuming its campus life at the soonest, a courtesy visit by Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus has certainly become a catalyst to stimulate the repositioning of the college to recover from the long quietness due to online teaching.

During the visit, Ir. Professor Lau Hieng Ho, the Pro Vice-Chancellor and CEO from Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus, who led the team to the KLT highlighted their intention in partnership opportunity and other potential collaborations since both institutions are owned by Yayasan Sarawak. This partnership shall look into the possibility of maximizing the credit transfer of the existing KLT Diploma programmes to Swinburne degree programmes.

According to Ir. Professor Lau, KLT being THE ONLY COLLEGE owned by Yayasan Sarawak posed a very important position in offering diploma programmes to a big group of school leavers who will benefit from the maximum credit transfers while saving their tuition fee on topping up with Swinburne University at the shortest duration.

On top of that, Swinburne University will also assist KLT to explore other potential diploma programmes which can fill the gap of human capital needed for the state economic development. For potential diploma programmes, Swinburne University will fully support KLT in terms of programmes’ structures and content, which will complement the maximum credit transfer thereafter for the students pursuing their degree studies at Swinburne University. KLT looks forward to developing closer relationship with Swinburne Sarawak, in benefiting the students both financially and academically while preparing them to be future ready.
