A two-hour visit to the construction site was organised with the objectives of leading the students to more exposure to building materials and construction technology of buildings. A total of approximately 35 students and 6 lecturers attended the site visit.

After arrival at the site, a short briefing about the project was given by the person in charge, Ms. Hii. After that, we were brought to visit 2 different types of showrooms.

According to Ms. Hii, the implementation of industrialized building system (IBS) has changed the nature of activities, which are different from traditional construction. It offers a whole range of benefits in the long run, such as better productivity, quality and safety and so on. Students learned about some major building finishes and construction methods during the site visit.

This site visit is beneficial to all students and it provided the students with practical insights into construction practices and materials, complementing their theoretical knowledge.
